Continuing Education Requirements (Per Virginia Board of Nursing)
The Medication Aide is required to complete a four-hour refresher course annually. Four hours each year of population-specific training in medication administration in the assisted living facility in which the aide is employed. The medication aide is unable to renew their registration until the refresher course is complete. Usually the medication aide’s employer will pay for the refresher course
